Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vancouver BC. The spectacularly scenic park offers naturally thrilling attractions, a fascinating history, and family-friendly activities. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park commissioned me to design a set of illustrations for t-shirts for their gift shop, The Trading Post. Working with their retail marketing team, we focused on apparel ideas inspired by their history, attractions in the park, and facts about the park’s natural rainforest environment.
The collection features 1893’s adventurous locals who were dubbed the “Capilano Tramps” for making a long journey by steamship before tramping up the rough trail to the bridge. Raptors Ridge is an area in the park where visitors can meet birds of prey and learn about wildlife conservation. Big Doug is nestled among acres of rainforest—where you can experience some of the largest and oldest Douglas Fir trees. Cliffwalk is a cantilevered walkway clinging to the granite cliff high above the Capilano Canyon—a daring adventure that set the tone for the thrilling suspension bridge.
